Can't decide plasma vs LCD? Here is a short guide on what you can expect from both technologies to help you make your pick:
Want size? Pick the plasma.

Plasma televisions can get as big as 63 inches wide. Most LCDs are only at 52" – so far. There are a few brands, however, which might make it possible in the near future to find 60+-inch LCDs available. Sharp has already produced a 65 incher.
Prefer sharper pictures and truer blacks and shadows? Go with the plasma.

Best Value Sony LCD Televisions
LCD televisions are quite capable of displaying truly sharp pictures but they don't always perform as well as plasmas when it comes to displaying black against shadows or light-coloured objects. Plasmas also minimize blur a lot, perfect if you like watching a lot of high action movies and sports.
Don't want burn-in issues? Take the LCD.
If there's one thing that turns would-be buyers off plasma flat panel televisions it's that they have burn-in issues. If you keep the TV on too long at a certain channel or play a certain video game for hours and hours on end, static images can burn into the screen and stay there even after you change to another channel.
Although newer plasma models try to minimize these risks with new features, the burn-in issue has never really been truly eliminated. With LCDs this is not a problem.
Want to go green? Get the LCD.
LCD TVs do not require as much energy as plasma TVs. If you calculate the energy savings on either one over, say, a year's use, you'll find that LCDs won't cost you as much.

<itunes:summary>You don't just buy a flat screen TV because it's trendy and sleek – you buy it because of the quality of the images it is capable of displaying. Thanks to improved technology, it has become more and more possible to find TVs that are capable of showing images on screen in nearly true colours. If you're considering buying a flat screen TV in the near future, here are a few things you might want to know.:

Plasma, LCD or HDTV?
When it comes to flat screen TVs, you basically have 3 choices: plasma, LCD and HDTV. In most cases, you'll probably find that the choice gets narrowed down to just two: plasma vs. LCD. There are pros and cons to each and which one you eventually take home with you will depend on your own preferences, requirements and expectations. Just make sure to keep these factors in mind:
- Size
- Picture quality
- Price
- Type of viewing conditions in your home
Since each technology performs slightly differently from the other based on these factors, you'll find it easier to choose which one is best for you – provided, of course, you already know what you truly want.
Budget
Ultimately, a flat screen TV will cost you a lot of money, ranging from as little as a £500 to as much as £6,000. Of course, with the tight competition among top brands, you can generally expect to get what you pay for. But before you get carried away, just make sure to keep a tight hold on your budget so you never spend more than you should.

Launched in February of 2000 by home cinema enthusiast Stuart Wright, AVForums.com has grown to become the largest AV home consumer electronics forum in the UK. AVForums.com is totally free and is the first place you will want to visit to discuss any issues with audio-visual home consumer electronics products.

Members of the site include retailers, consumers, enthusiasts, newbies, and industry insiders, so there is a wealth of information being posted all the time. In fact there are already almost one million posts in just the LCD and plasma TV forums, so just doing a search of the site should help you find an answer to your problem. The members are also very helpful, and if you post your question its likely somebody else will have the same equipment, and try to help with your problem.
On searching for in-formation about the Panasonic TH42PZ85 for example, returned 148 forum posts, these included, buying advice, general set-up hints and tips, and in depth comparisons with the Pioneer PDP428XD. Do not feel left out if you have bought a less well known brand television, a search for a CelloLT0402 LCD TV for example returned 4 posts from people you could exchange information with.
Recently the site has expanded to include movie reviews, podcasts, 68 video productions and currently over 25 high quality hardware reviews. In summary this site is highly recommended and well worth a visit before and after buying your new LCD/Plasma television.

Review: Panasonic TX37LZD70 37 Inch LCD TV
This model, the Panasonic TX37LZD70, is the first LCD from the TV manufacturer. It has a 37 inch screen and is built in with stereo sound, and boasting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This TV model has two speakers operating at 20 watts, broadcasts in 1080p format, and weight 27 kg, so you can easily mount it on your wall, much like any other LCD flat screen TV. Moreover, this TV is high definition, so if your television programming provider is making the switch soon from ordinary cable and network broadcasting to high definition broadcasting, you will be ready.

Reviews have already emerged for the Panasonic TX37LZD70 LCD HDTV. For one, CNet UK has labelled its display as excellent and sharp, with clean pictures, and a good many features for its price. However, CNet does say that the TV's ability to resolve black could be better, and some of the colours on the display might seem muted (instead of the vibrant colours that many LCD manufacturers promise). Some reviewers tout the low price and good audio from the TV, as well as its good connectivity as one of its best assets. Another great asset with this TV model is that you can view the LCD from wider viewing angles without missing out on contrast and colour.
Other reviewers are not as enthusiastic about the Panasonic TX37LZD70. For instance, some reviewers look for 1080p 24Hz broadcasting, which many other LCD televisions now have. Other reviewers are looking for an additional HDMI input that would allow the LCD to finally earn its full five star rating. The reviewers expect a lot, since Panasonic has released several excellent Plasma TV models.
The advantages associated with LCD TV, however, still hold. For one, LCD TV sets are not as susceptible to burn in as other television models are. However, the individual pixels in these television models might be subject to their own burn in, resulting in black specks scattered across your screen. When this happens, you cannot simply replace parts in the LCD screen, and you will have to buy another screen entirely. Other advantages associated with LCD screens is the lower screen glare, the ability to operate the screen even at higher altitudes, and good appearance of the display even if a room is brightly lit.
If you would like to know more about LCD screens and how this particular Panasonic model might fit your needs and budget, then you may need to talk to your local television provider and seller. Consult on the model that you want, as well as the features that you need. LCD television sets have many different features that adhere to a lot of today's best entertainment, so if you want a good break from the chaotic world out there, a Panasonic TX-37LZD70 TV set could be a good choice.

Best Prices on Refurbished Plasma TV's
If you're looking for a good plasma TV and are in for a good bargain, consider buying refurbished. In many ways, refurbished plasma televisions are way better than 'slightly used' units.

Here are 4 reasons why you should consider buying one:
Refurbished plasma TVs are generally brand new.
Refurbished flat panel televisions are very rarely used, which means they are not reconditioned or second hand items. Some of them were returned by customers in less than 30 days after purchase or the units may have suffered from minor exterior or shipping damage. Some may even be overstocks. If they were ever used, they were probably run as demonstration units, until they were taken off the shelves, inspected and repackaged to be sold.
There are several great picks in terms of brand and model.
There's no telling what you can find if you look for a refurbished plasma TV. Since new models of top brands are shipped, examined or bought each month, there are excellent options for you in case you have a specific brand and model in mind.
Refurbished plasma TVs do come with warranties.
Although you can no longer expect the kind of warranties that normally come with brand new units, many manufacturers and reputable retailers do offer reasonable warranties. That should keep you covered in case something does go wrong with your unit.
Refurbished plasma TVs can save you at least 50% off the going retail price.
Probably the most attractive thing about refurbished plasma TVs is that manufacturers and retailers sell them at 50-70 percent off their original retail price. That could possibly save you from hundreds of pounds, something you can never expect with brand new units or even used, second-hand units.

Plasma televisions aren't cheap but there are many units out there that are being sold at discounted prices. If you'd like to take advantage of slashed down prices, here are some of the sources you can use to look for discount plasma TVs:
Discount stores
Discount stores such as Costco, Tesco, Best Buy and Asda are some of the best places to find discounted plasma TVs. A warning, though: most of the brands you'll find here aren't the top brands. If you don't mind paying for products made by generic brands, you certainly won't mind going this route.
Although you've probably never encountered any of the brands before (do Maxent, Kreisen, Syntax Olevia and Vizio ring a bell?), with a little research, there's a high likelihood that you'll give one of these manufacturers a chance – especially once you've seen the tag prices on their products.
Refurbished units
Another great source of discount plasma flat panel televisions are retailers and manufacturers who sell refurbished units. Re-furbs are mostly brand new units that have undergone some minor repairs and refinishing before getting repacked and sold as such. If you've been pining for a unit but don't have £1,500 to spend, you'll be glad to know that discounted plasma TVs sold as re-furbs can only set you back by about £600 or even less.

On-line sites and discount on-line stores
Ever since plasma TVs exploded in the market several years ago, there hasn't been a lack in on-line sources for discounted units. You could use these sites as references if you wish to compare prices for certain models. Just make sure to read the description of the items so you can protect yourself from any unreliable sellers or less-than-desirable units.

Philips 42PFL7962D
Review: The Philips 42PFL7962D 42 Inch LCD Television
Having an LCD TV can allow you to get the best in entertainment, and if you can get a big, widescreen television set, then you can certainly get the most out of your viewing experience. One such LCD telly is the Philips 42PFL7962D, in glossy black, and with 1920 x 1080 native resolution. This television set is available in full high definition, so you can be sure that you are joining the rest of the world as it makes the shift to digital TV.
This Philips LCD TV has both analogue and digital tuner, the latter in DVB-T format. If you are still in analogue format, you can get NTSC, PAL, and SECAM formats to your LCD Philips TV. You can also make a preview of your channels through a double screen. This LCD HDTV model also has several features. It reduces noise in videos, has dynamic contrast, an anti-reflection coating, digital natural motion, smart picture control and even smart sound control. Working on stereo sounds and equipped with two speakers, as well as a subwoofer, you can be sure that you can enjoy your viewing and listening experience. This TV set also has its own remote control and operates at 230 V.
Unlike some LCD televisions, this Philips model is able to respond to fast action with a 5 ms response time. It also has its own built in ambilight, which will enhance your viewing experience. With a screen that can show up to 28.9 billion colours, and a contrast ratio of 7500:1, you can see colours clearly and vividly, and see all your favourite programs, sports, and movies in the format that will bring out the best in them.
When consulting with your local TV sales shop, always ask about the newest and best features of LCD television screens. There are still some old problems that are in the process of being solved, so you will need to consult with a shop assistant or a technology expert on what the best options for you are. For instance, although LCD screens are not susceptible to an image burn out, individual pixels on that screen can be burned out. This can result in your LCD screen getting black specks all over it, and these individual pixels cannot be replaced. You will need to get a new LCD screen if this happens.
However, LCD television sets run cool, and are able to produce higher resolutions for their price range. There is also less glare from your LCD TV screen, you can still make it work at higher altitudes, the display actually looks good when your room is brightly lit, and the screen itself has a long display life. Moreover, if you want to view Blu-Ray discs and high definition DVD, then having an LCD screen is your best bet. Lastly, an LCD television set is much lighter than a lot of the flat screen television sets in stores nowadays, so you can mount it easily on your wall and save yourself some furniture space.
Still, some LCD television sets cannot render deep black colours, have a difficult time tracking some kinds of fast motion, and will often have lower contrast ratio than Plasma TV. However, technology in this field of audio-visual entertainment is quickening, so you can be sure to get the best LCD television set in no time. Just keep yourself updated on the latest in LCD technology to get more for your budget.

Buy LCD TV, Cheap prices now available
Cheapest price LCD Televisions
LCD's have made the leap from calculators to hand-held games to computer monitors. Now, they are set to invade your homes once again as television sets. LCD TVs are currently one of the most popular among flat screen televisions. But should you get one? Here are some reasons why you might want to go ahead and buy an LCD TV:
Picture quality is very good.
Admittedly, LCD TVs may be second only to plasmas in terms of picture quality but they are quite capable of producing excellent images. Blur and colour display (particularly where the colour black is concerned) can sometimes cause pixilation and less-than-ideal hues but overall, LCD TVs are quite capable of producing clear, vibrant images.
No burn-in issues.
If you've made a career out of playing video games, LCD TVs are a better choice.
LCD TVs, unlike plasmas, don't have burn-in issues. You never have to fear about having any images permanently appearing as ghostly reminders of your favourite channel or that video game you spend 8 hours a day to play anywhere on your screen.
Furthermore, LCD TVs don't eat up a lot of energy – excellent if you're watching your power cost or just want to be more environment-friendly.
Big, bigger, biggest.
LCD TV's biggest competitor is the plasma TV. In the size department, plasmas rule but if LCD TV manufacturers have their way, that position will soon be challenged. Some manufacturers are already looking to build bigger screens for LCD's. Furthermore, LCD's are generally more cost-effective to manufacture.
Weight issues resolved.
In terms of weight, LCD TVs are significantly easy on the joints to move and ship. They may resemble plasmas in look and form but they are lighter in weight. If you want something that's easy to carry and mount, that's just another reason why you should buy an LCD TV.

Since you'll be spending a lot of money on a plasma TV, it pays to spend a few hours learning about what you can expect from this new flat screen tv technology. To make sure you get the best plasma TV for the money, consider the following specs:
Contrast ratio
This refers to the capability of the TV to display bright and dark elements, particularly next to one another. The best plasma televisions have a high contrast ratio. At the barest minimum, this should be at 1000:1. Again, this is the least you can expect from the TV. More and more models are capable of ratings such as 10,000:1 or higher.
Aspect ratio
Aspect ratio refers to the ratio between the height and width of the plasma TV screen. Older televisions, such as CRTs, have an aspect ratio of 4:3. From the numbers, you'll see that the ratio makes the screen appear nearly square because it's almost even on all sides.
The best plasma TVs, however, are designed with the wide-screen format in mind. Aspect ratio on plasma TVs is at 16:9. This makes the screen more rectangular, allowing for a wider, more cinematic view.
Performance
If you want to go by the top brands, then consider offerings from Pioneer, Samsung and Panasonic, three of the brands currently offering the best plasma TV models today. Pioneer is the more expensive brand but if you can spare the extra cash, go for its PRO series because it's easily the best high-def TV around in terms of picture quality and overall performance. If you'd rather pick the more affordable brand, then go for the Panasonic or Samsung.
Reputation
By reputation, we mean reliability. According to users, the top plasma TV brands that didn't show any problems that required repairs within 3 years after purchase are Pioneer, Samsung and Panasonic. If you're eyeing other brands, you might want to learn more about consumer reviews regarding brands that you're considering so you have a good idea what you can generally expect.

	<itunes:summary>Buying Bargain TV's
Why buy at the original price if you can find a retailer willing to slash off the price, right? That's the philosophy many cost-conscious consumers are keeping in mind when shopping for cheap televisions. Prices have gone down since they first appeared in the market but they still cost thousands of dollars – an amount that many consumers are not willing to pay. So where to find cheap LCD televisions? Here are some sources you can tap and what you can hope to expect
Off-line and on-line discount stores
Depending on which store you choose to deal with, you can expect anything from used LCD TVs to refurbs to overstocks from these sources. Try to shop around, compare prices and models, ask customer service and find on-line resources, especially reviews. You want to be forewarned.
How cheap? Depending on the unit and where you shop, expect from 15% to around 50% off the retail price. Just be careful when shopping on on-line stores, though. The offer on a nice LCD television may seem to good to be true but it might not include the cost of shipping, which can significantly jack up the price.
Auction sites
Auction sites such as eBay often posts ads for cheap or discount LCD televisions for auction. If you find a reputable seller and a unit that's in good condition, you could save a few thousand dollars here.
Just be careful when dealing on-line, though and learn to understand the lingo of auction sites. You don't want to be stuck with a scammer or a cheap LCD television that will conk out after just a few days of use.
Manufacturers
If you want a cheap LCD television, go straight to the source. Some manufacturers offer refurbished units – brand new units that had to undergo a few repairs and then repackaged to be sold. Refurbs by manufacturers are generally more reliable than those offered by third party sellers, plus, you get the LCD TV of your choice at very low prices.

Want a big, drool-worthy LCD TV but can't afford the price? Envy no more. Here are three options for finding the cheapest LCD TV of your dreams:
Wait for a clearance sale.
Clearance sales are excellent opportunities for finding never-before-used LCD TVs at slashed down prices. They're still not dirt cheap but the discount on the price tags should make a very happy person out of you.
Clearance sales are held periodically by manufacturers and their authorized dealers. Units are relatively brand new, in the sense that they haven't been used or bought by anyone before. They're just being sold cheap so newer models of LCD TVs can come in. But what's wrong with an LCD TV model that's only a year old, right? As long as it's cheap and performs well.
Go for a cheaper brand.
Forget Pioneer and Sony. These brands are great buys, true – but only if you have the money. Since you're looking for a cheap LCD TV right now, best stick to brands that are displayed further down the aisles or those brands that you only find at discount stores. They may not be familiar to you but they're worth a try.
Buy a refurb unit.
'Refurb' stands for refurbished. These are TVs that have been repackaged by the manufacturer or retailer and are being resold at very high discounts. Refurbs aren't the same as 'used' or 'reconditioned' units – they're basically brand new units. They just needed a few minor repairs and are generally in excellent working condition.
A caveat: refurb units may let you get your hands on a cheap LCD TV but it does pay to find out as much as you can about the unit. Get a warranty as well, preferably one that offers you full refund or a replacement.

Review: Sony KDL32S3000 32 Inch LCD
If you're in the mood for a whole lot of telly, then you may want to get a Sony LCD TV. In particular, why not go for the Sony KDL32S3000 Bravia, a high definition digital television with the latest in LCD technology? In reviews, this particular Sony model has been touted for its level of depth, as well as its vibrant colours and its clarity. The Sony BRAVIA Engine also promises a digital video processor in full digital technology that is designed to deliver clear images that are crisp, as well as special enhancements to the LCD televisions picture quality.

The Sony KDL32S3000 LCD HD ready TV model also comes in high definition, so you won't be left behind when television and cable broadcasters make the shift to high definition broadcasting in the coming years. The Sony KDL32S3000 also has a native 1366 x 768 display, with a 178 degree viewing angle. This television set also has several features: it has its own clock and alarm, three input sockets for audio and visual displays, three output sockets for audio and visual displays, and specifications so that you can set your favourite channels.
You can also attach your headphones to your LCD, and even hook up your PC to it so that you can see what you are doing even better, whether you are working on spreadsheets and documents, or videos and editing! And because this Sony model weighs only 32 pounds, you can hook it up to your wall and save yourself space when you start re-modelling your house around your brand new LCD television set. Moreover, this Sony model is Energy Star compliant, so you do not have to worry about your electric bills and whether you're making an expensive, not to mention dangerous carbon footprint.
These are only a few features of the Sony KDL32S3000 Bravia, and with the shifts being made to digital technology, you can be sure to get more out of your telly viewing experience. Whether you're rooting for Liverpool or Chelsea in that next big game and hoping to see the players as though they were kicking around in our living room; or you're hoping to catch the best in cinema and see the characters as though they were performing right in front of you, an LCD television set can make your viewing experience all the more exciting and entertaining.
There are other advantages to getting an LCD telly for your home. Your LCD television set has little susceptibility to burn in, and it runs cool, so you don't have to worry about it burning out after just a few years of using it. There is also little glare, so you need not worry about your eyesight. When your mum told you never to watch TV in the dark, she was right, and LCD television sets can function well even if your room is brightly lit. In terms of pixel resolution, LCD sets have great resolution for their price.
However, individual pixels in your LCD television can get burned in, so if you start noticing black specks on your LCD screen, then your entire television might be in trouble and you will need to replace your entire set. LCD Sony televisions, moreover, unlike Plasma, have a lower contrast ratio, and are not as good as showing the deep black colours of a broadcast. Motion tracking is also hard with LCD television and you may end up watching a whole lot of blur. With more improvements in technology, however, you can probably get a great LCD television like the Sony KDL32S3000 without any worries.

When things are sold at a discount, we inevitably wonder why prices have been cut down. The same is true with televisions, which have become a major buying decision in the past few years, thanks to significantly improved technology and rising prices. But should discount televisions scare you?
Where discount televisions come from
There is a well-designed marketing strategy behind the move to offer discounts on electronics such as TVs. In fact, many of the reasons why discount televisions are being offered should encourage you to buy cheaper TVs. Here are some of them:
Sales
Clearance and seasonal sales, for example, frequently allow retailers to slash down prices in order to 'move' unsold television units and make way for new ones – usually new models or brands. There really is nothing wrong with the units, except that no one has bought them yet and they're about to be replaced by a new batch.
Generics
Another reason discount televisions come to you is the emergence of new brands. These are companies that are trying to enter a market dominated by top players such as Sony, Pioneer, Philips, LG, Samsung and Sharp, among others.
Some of these new brands have been manufacturing televisions or TV components for years for other brands and have only recently decided to manufacture their own. Some of them are just simply new players. Since you'll be buying a generic brand, you get a discounted television unit.
Second hand and re-furbs
Second hand and refurbished units are also another reason why you can buy televisions on a discount. Second hand or used units are of course offered 20% to 75% its original price depending on its brand, model and 'age' while re-furbs are simply brand new units that have been repackaged after inspection and quite possibly, after undergoing some very minor repairs.
So should you buy discount televisions? If you don't mind doing some research and are quite willing to explore new ways of finding a cheaper alternative, then definitely, you should not be scared of buying one. After all, it's still your dream TV, only at a cheaper price.

Apple Ipod Shuffle Reviews 1GB Blue: Small and Stylish
The Apple Ipod Shuffle 1GB Blue is one of the classiest and most convenient devices ever produced by Steve Jobs. It features so much storing power in such a little package, spurring individuals to immediately resort to it. It is very ideal for those who are always on the go, as well as those who need extra storage capacity in an MP3 player but do not want to sacrifice style and size. Here are more details.

A Quick Look
The Apple Ipod Shuffle 1GB Blue weighs less than 1 ounce and has no LCD because of its very tiny size. It includes a built-in USB 2.0 interface, with 1GB storage capacity at a price of around £23. The Shuffle focuses on both simplicity and affordability, while others fill in numerous features and add-ons. You simply press play to turn the unit on. It is basically catered towards people who want to listen to music or store data files.
The entire device appears like a strip of plastic with a few buttons. It also features other fun colours that iPod is known for aside from techie silver, such as bright green, pink, white, blue and black. It measures a mere 0.3 inch thick and less than 1 inch wide. There is a round controller showing all-tactile buttons. At the back, you wll find a little wide sliding switch that turns the Shuffle on in either Shuffle mode or repeat Playlist mode. There is a little battery indicator button beneath the switch that changes colour depending on the remaining battery life. There is a headphone jack at the top and a removable cap at the bottom for the USB.
What to Expect
The Apple Ipod Shuffle 1GB Blue works very well with the latest iTunes, including the autofill feature which automatically loads the MP3 player with some songs based on the preference of the user. You can hold approximately 210 songs. If you intend to use it as a storage piece, iTunes will assign a set amount of space for data storage exclusively. You can instruct iTunes to exchange the Shuffle with brand new songs or let them load in random from your playlist choice. You can also manually transfer the songs. The 1GB Shuffle is the only flash-based player that will play FairPlay-protected AAC files.
The Shuffle can play back ACC to a maximum of 320 Kbps and MP3 to a maximum of 320 Kbps, it can also support file formats like WAV, Audible files and MP3 VBR. It cannot support WMA, Apple Lossless and AIFF. Accessories cost around $9 each such as the AAA battery pack, USB power adapter, miniature dock, armband and protective carrying case. Third party vendors are expected to create more soon.
Full Assessment
The price is very affordable, the design is very simple but stylish and the integration with iTunes is very good. There is no LCD, however, as well as the presence of an equalizer. Some users report transfer speeds to be slow. Transfer time is 1.4 MB per second which is quite slow for a USB 2.0. The Apple Ipod Shuffle 1GB Blue is another good addition for those who already have the Ipod Classic or Video. Battery life is estimated to be around 12 hours. It takes about 2 hours to charge the device to 80%, but 4 hours to charge fully.

Review: The Panasonic TH37PX80 37'' Plasma TV: A Big, Beautiful Classic at a Reasonable Price
If you've been impressed by Panasonic's PX70 series, you will be stunned by the new PX80 models. And the Panasonic TH-37PX80 37" plasma TV can demonstrate competently why.
There are plenty of features to look forward to in the new Panasonic TH37PX80 37" plasma HD ready TV. As expected, this is widescreen technology at its best. It boasts of a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, a huge leap from the 1,000:1 ratio of older plasma TV models and a terrific jump from the 10,000:1 ratio of the PX70s. This allows for a clearer, sharper picture.

As if that's not enough, it also has a 100Hz noise reduction capability, more assurance that the images you see on screen are optimized for full viewing pleasure. It also features Panasonic's Deep Colour v1.3 technology that enhances screen details to produce natural-looking colours – from deep blues to the darkest blacks to baby greens and explosive reds.
It also uses the V Real 3 technology, combining it with the 1080p chipset to manage digital processing and re-mastering. That will assure users of clean edges – no colour bleeding or annoying horizontal blurs on Panasonic's plasma televisions. Shadow detail is also tops, which means that this TV will allow you to watch fast-action movies and high-speed motion without the blur.
This flat screen TV understands that the user's eyes can only be fooled so much and doesn't attempt to do so. What you get is excellent colour and sharp detail. If your concern is its performance regarding black levels, go ahead and test it. It will deliver.
What about connectivity? Plasma TVs are not meant to be solitary animals. They are built and designed to work with other gadgets in the room, which means they are expected to have reliable and flexible connectivity. This you can find in the Panasonic TH37PX80 37" plasma TV. It has an S-video input, composite input, audio input, PC input and HDMI inputs (there are 3).
What about the form?
Panasonic has taken its aesthetic approach to the Panasonic TH37PX80 37" plasma TV further. This is a TV that's meant to last you a long time, something that was probably in the mind of the designers. The frame is solidly built and dark, creating a classic look that's designed to blend with the overall scheme of the room and still stand out when it needs to.
Any cons?
The Panasonic TH-37PX80 37" plasma TV does have a few challenges, albeit minimal. Viewing angle tops at 150 degrees – great enough – but it can show some double imaging from that angle. Native resolution could also use some boost. It also cannot make up for any deficiencies at the source and may sometimes show posterisation.
That being said, the Panasonic TH37PX80 37" plasma TV is still a stunning contender in the race to make the perfect plasma TV. And the price it comes with doesn't hurt either. It's not the perfect plasma TV but it's close enough.

Review: The Panasonic TH42PX80: Top-Rating 42" Plasma TV in a Class All By Itself
If there's one plasma TV manufacturer that you could rely on to produce a television that has the body of a working class hero, the brains of a geek and the beauty of a celebrated painting, it's Panasonic. Panasonic has consistently come up with some of the world's best plasma televisions, distinctly without the frills, preferring instead to offer more weight on functionality. With the Panasonic TH-42PX80 42" plasma TV, it has achieved that all over again.

What to look forward to
The Panasonic TH42PX80 42" plasma TV is the next generation of widescreen TV following the company's PX70 series. What should excite you with the newer models is the picture quality. With a contrast ratio at an impressive 15,000:1, you can expect it to function even when the brightest white and the darkest black are displayed on-screen. This ratio is one of the highest yet among big-screen plasma TVs in the industry. What this means to you is that this flat screen TV will deliver the best possible picture quality without the need for any manual adjustments. Which leads us to…
Black levels. This area is one of the greatest concerns among video connoisseurs, the criterion on which many well-meaning plasma flat panel televisions have already failed in the past. The Panasonic TH42PX80 42" plasma TV can assure you of excellent delivery of the deepest black. It's still not the best (compared to Pioneer's Kuros series) but it's sufficient reason for you to love this new offering.
Image quality also comes courtesy of its HD 720p resolution, which increases details significantly and adds a crispness in the pictures that wasn't readily available before. As for colour, you'll be glad to know that with the Panasonic TH42PX80's perfect colour gamut, every colour, shade, hue and tint that you could ever imagine can be captured by this TV, thanks to its 16-bit C3 Image-Enhanced Video processor.
It also shows a lot of desirability in terms of motion handling – pictures appear fluid and seamless and blurring is severely minimized. Thanks to built-in double scan and noise reduction technology, overall picture image is clean and baseline digital noise is reduced significantly.
The Panasonic TH42PX80 42" plasma TV also lets you achieve most connectivity functions – it has 3 HDMI inputs, an SD card slot (for viewing slide-shows of last month's vacation) and 2 high-def component inputs. No PC inputs, however, so any games you're raring to play can only come courtesy of a video console.
Any cons?
It's still not the perfect plasma and aside from the rather competitive black level showing, it also only offers a native resolution of 1024 x 768. Although you could expect excellent sharpness and clarity from this TV, for purists, those figures do not have the makings of a true HD. It also has a few problems with posterisation, especially if the source does not deliver well. If material is film-based, the Panasonic TH-42PX80 42" plasma TV also doesn't interlace well.
Although it delivers excellent colour overall, it can sometimes display greens with bluish tinge, something that might trouble some viewers. Black levels can also sometimes fluctuate. But heave a sigh of relief, though, because it's not always that noticeable. If you wish to maintain certain settings, know that they can't be saved on their own for every input.
Overall rating
The TH42PX80 42" plasma TV is an excellent offering from Panasonic in terms of colour, picture clarity, image contrast and motion. Add to that the simulated surround sound system that comes with every unit. That assures you of enhanced audio-visual entertainment that packs a heavy punch. Plus, you get everything at just [...]</itunes:summary>

Review: Sony KDL40U3000 40 Inch LCD TV
If you are up for forty inches of entertainment, then you may want to consider getting the latest from Sony. The KDL40U3000U LCD is an HD ready TV that will get you started on the high definition revolution happening in network and cable television broadcasting today. With a 16:9 aspect ratio, a native resolution at 1366 x 768, and means by which you can plug in your personal computer, this Sony LCD TV will make you want to sit on your couch and simply watch.

The Sony KDL40U3000 HD ready TV has Dolby Virtual/BBE VIVA Sound, as well as BRAVIA Theatre Sync, which should turn every viewing experience into an almost real movie experience. Think of how your LCD could turn your home into an instant movie theatre, complete with great picture quality (much better than film at your local cinema) and great sound, minus the stink of popcorn. Plus, because you can watch all your television programs in high definition, even your local BBC news is going to be clearer and less grainy, and you won't have to sit back and wonder if the telly ever evolved.
When you buy the Sony KDL40U3000U, your box will come with the television set itself, as well as a table top stand for most vendors. You will also get power cords and support belt screws for your cord support belt. The Sony television model also has its own remote control unit, with batteries included. You will also get your own operating instructions plus a Quick Setup Guide, so you don't need to ask your friends for advice on how to plug it in and get it started. This Sony TV also has its own warranty card and a registration CD, as well as a card that will allow you to register your Sony model on-line.
There are many different advantages associated with getting your own LCD television set. For one, you less glare from your flat screen, you can get good displays for far longer, and you can watch TV and get good results even if your room is brightly lit. An LCD is also more cost-effective than other television types when you want to buy Blu-Ray Discs or view your high definition DVD. Moreover, an LCD televisions are lighter for its screen size, so you can install it right onto your wall. This allows you to save space when you are designing your home and moving things around, and it may allow you to get even more space for other household appliances in your living room, such as a DVD player and a sound system.
The Sony KDL40U3000, however, does not have as high a contrast ratio as do plasma television models, and sometimes, LCD monitors have a hard time tracking motion. And although an LCD monitor takes a long while to burn out, individual pixels can get burned, causing your screen to come up with tiny black dots. If this happens, you will need to replace the entire TV, as individual pixels cannot be replaced or repaired. However, with better technology coming in and even more research being done on how to improve LCD television, you can expect better models to start coming in the future.

Philips 42PFL7662D

Review: The Philips 42PFL7662D 42 Inch LCD
If you are hoping to get a bigger monitor for your living room at 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution, and if you want to start getting yourself ready for the shift to high definition programming, then you may want to consider the Philips 42PFL7662D LCD HDTV. At forty-two inches, this monitor has Pixel Plus HD that can allow you to watch high definition television with better details, clarity, and depth. The monitor also has its own 3D comb filter, which acts to separate colours with better definition providing sharper images than found on other LCD televisions.

This TV promises surround sound for better audio, and is slim: you can mount it on your wall and save yourself space for your other gadgets and appliances. In addition to these, you can enhance your own viewing experience by buying add-ons to this television set. For instance, you can get cables, brackets to attach your TV to your wall, various remote controls, and a home movie system that can allow you to get a home cinema feel. Your Philips TV is also high definition ready, so you can get high definition TV signals, and enjoy your Blu-Ray and high definition DVDs better.
This particular model of Philips LCD TV's also has a 5000:1 contrast rate, which allows it to display deeper blacks and brighter colours, an LCD weakness that has been around for some time. This model also has its own digital tuner, so that you can watch free channels that are broadcasting in digital. You can also avail yourself of the TV's built-in electronic programme guide. This model also has sockets that can allow you to hook up your TV to external video appliances.
Reviews for this Philips 42PFL7662D LCD have hitherto been mixed. Some critics and reviewers on-line call it brilliant, but often complain that they cannot connect the LCD TV to a personal computer easily. The picture quality is unlike any other, some critics even say, plus the TV is quite easy to set up. In some cases, however, customers have complained about having to go back constantly to their local Philips repair shop in order to have the TV fixed, but always coming home and finding something wrong. Complaints are also rife on after-sales service for Philips.
However, the price could well do it for this LCD TV, as some customers see it as good value for their money. The menus in particular appear easy to use, and Blu-Ray movies and high definition games look better on this LCD TV model. There is a complaint however, of not having good enough resolution when dealing with moving objects, as well as sound modes for the television, which are not good enough. The sound, reviews report, is too full of bass, and if headphones are used, there seems to be a low buzz that constantly plays. Moreover, the television seems much heavier than other LCD models, which are known to be lighter and easier to mount on a wall.
For more information on the Philips 42PFL7662D LCD TV model, you may talk to your local Philips representative or to appliance stores in your area that sell Philips products. Be sure to test your TV extensively and report any repairs that may have to be made. Moreover, update yourself on the latest in LCD TV technology so that you will know in advance if you have to deal with any problems with your LCD TV set.

Review: LG 32LC56 32 Inch LCD TV: Quality at the Perfect Price
The LG 32LC56 32 Inch LCD TV is one of the most stylish LCD televisions available of its kind. If you are very concerned about the exterior and interior features of television, then this unit is for you. It makes sure that it functions both as a screen, as well as a decorative piece. The price is also very right which means that it can be made available to a wider range of customers. Find out more about the special functions.

How It Looks Like
The LG 32LC56 32 Inch LCD TV shows off a very stylish and modern design. It has futuristic crisp lines plus a very thin profile. It is among the most beautiful LCD TVs available as far as exterior is concerned. It is made of quality materials and specifications too, with a black colour outward appearance. There is a Slimline wall mount having 365 mm of maximum width. The stylised treatment hides the bracket strategically so your room looks cleaner and sleeker. Mounting the TV to the wall only leaves less than 60 mm distance so the panel is very well-placed.
Features to Ponder On
The LCD TV by LG ensures that you stick to your budget while having the power to afford all the needed specifications and features for great viewing time. This HD ready TV has a screen resolution of 1377 x 768 instead of the Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is equipped with an 8-bit panel instead of the 10-bit and excludes the wide colour gamut which is found in higher LY series models.
The 32LC56 has 2 HDMI inputs, 2 Scart sockets with 1 RGB, a composite, a component and S-Video inputs. The unique XD engine by LG is also available in this unit to enhance the quality of images you are viewing. The engine provides a wide array of processing enhancements for pictures together with other features to ensure that input signal quality improves significantly. The model has enhanced noise reduction and digital comb filter to reduce blur when watching moving objects and fast-action scenes.
The unit also boasts having the Intelligent Eye which automatically adjusts the image depending on the lighting conditions of your room. General quality is enhanced overall. There is also the Simple Link technology or HDMI-CEC which provides you full control over all LG-compatible equipment via a single remote control.
As a Whole
Even though there are bigger flat panel televisions with higher resolutions available, the LG 32LC56 32 Inch LCD TV does not disappoint in providing you with the ultimate viewing experience. The alternative features incorporated in the system make it a very great buy. The LCD presents images very sharply and vividly together with HD inputs. The colour performance using the 8-bit panel is also excellent. It is one of the most impressive 32 LCD TVs that consumers have ever seen. Black levels are also decent so you can effectively distinguish the colour black.
The LG 32LC56 32 Inch LCD TV is truly affordable coming in only with a price tag of around £319.99. It is a big improvement compared to its other predecessors and typical models in its class. This product is expected to make waves in the next few months. It has SSM or 6 Sound Status Mode which provides great audio as well when you are watching shows, presentations or films.

LG 42PC55 42 Inch Plasma
Price in GBP: £420.84 Incl VAT (EU)
Review: The LG 42PC55 42 Inch Plasma
Buying a Plasma TV nowadays can be tricky. After all, plasma televisions can be delicate, and can be difficult to ship. They are also heavier and are difficult to mount on a wall. The Plasma screen is also more susceptible to pixel burn-in, but thanks to technology, this may soon go away. Still, a Plasma TV generates more heat, cannot perform well when used at higher altitudes, and will often have a shorter life span in terms of its display. Still, many customers prefer the Plasma television over an LCD, since it has good contrast ration, a good ability to render shades of deeper black, richer depth of colour, a faster response time when tracking motion, and having more screen sizes, especially larger ones.

One such model is the LG 42PC55 Plasma, a 42 inch HD ready TV set weighing about 35 kilos. This model has several accessories that might be best bought along with it, including remote controls, cables, a complete home cinema system, and compatible DVD players. Some vendors also offer special package deals on wall brackets for Plasma screens that will allow them to be a mounted on a wall, thus saving you furniture space.
Reviews for this model have been encouraging so far. For the price, some customers see this as a great deal on a Plasma TV. Unlike some Plasma TV's, for instance, this model is ready for high definition broadcasting. This model can also allow you to view your high definition DVD's and Blu-Ray DVD's. This Plasma television model, however, also builds up heat immensely, and a safe viewing distance would be between two and a half to three and a half meters away from the screen. Moreover, this LG Plasma flat screen TV has a shiny surface, so that you might see yourself reflected often on the screen.
Be that as it may, this model is also very slim, and its menus are easy to navigate. This LG Plasma TV model can also allow you to connect your SKY box, DVD Player, as well as Surround Sound equipment, providing you with the chance of getting the most out of your entertainment experience. Most UK vendors also deliver this model quickly. Most importantly, this LG Plasma TV model presents great sound and picture, and is often compared to higher models of other brands that cost more.
If you are interested in buying this LG Plasma TV model, talk to your local television vendor about what options are available to you, and if this Plasma TV model meets your needs and budget. You may also want to ask for warranties and insurance just in case any damage occurs during shipping, since Plasma televisions are difficult to ship and are very delicate. You may also want to ask for more accessories that can help your viewing experience improve. Ask for options regarding the high heat generated by this television model: you may be living in a small flat that could heat up considerably with this LG Plasma TV model, and you could end up footing extremely high electric bills all in the name of entertainment.
As technology improves, however, you can surely find yourself getting even better deals on Plasma television sets. Keep your eyes open for more deals, and keep yourself updated on the latest in entertainment technology. Soon, you can enjoy your LG Plasma TV model in your own home if you make the right choices.

Review: LG 42LF75 42 Inch LCD
The LG 42LF75 42 inch LCD HDTV screen comes with stereo, 3D surround sound, high resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, and the ability to hook up your PC to it, you can enjoy even more with your LCD screen. This screen, moreover, is quite light compared with other flat panel televisions. The LG 42LF75 stands at 23.3 kilos, making it easier to mount on your wall. The display is also sharper: it has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1, and you can view your television and see the same colours and picture even at 178 degrees.
Not all reviews have been favourable for the LG 42LF75, however. Although reviewers find it to be great for its price, it can look like plastic and less professional or glossy up close. This complaint is common amongst LCD televisions that are priced cheaper than usual. Moreover, LCD screens have a slow response time, with this LG 42LF75 model having a 5 ms response time. A response time denotes how well a monitor can resolve movement. Most LCD screens are still weak in this respect, so that watching rapid movement on your screen can simply turn your screen into one big blur of colour. However, great strides have been made in LCD technology that will allow LCD screens to have better resolution as well as better response time.
An LCD, unlike a Plasma screen, will almost always be ready for a high definition revolution in broadcasting, so if you buy an LCD screen, you are ready for this transition. Still, you need to be aware that there are a few drawbacks when it comes to getting an LCD telly. For one, the contrast ratio is much smaller than it is with a Plasma television set. An LCD television set is also poor at rendering different shades of much deeper black. Moreover, although your LCD television is not as susceptible to burn in, your screen's individual pixels can burn out on their own. When this happens, you will see small specks on your screen – and when this happens, you need to replace your entire screen, since individual pixels cannot be replaced or repaired.
These are only a few aspects of LCD television that you should be aware of. For more information, keep on doing your research on-line, and keep yourself updated with the latest in television technology. As more and more research is being conducted, more and more improvements are being made, and you can expect great viewing in the years to come. In the meantime, talk to experts about what you can expect from your LCD television, and ask how you can get your needs to meet your budget. Although LCD television sets are comparatively more expensive, the price gap between them and Plasma is closing, so be on the lookout for bargains.

Review: The LG 50PC55 50 Inch Plasma
Your friends were not joking when they said that plasma televisions are all the rage. If you want to up your telly experience and get the most out of your programming – whether it's news on the BBC or the latest footy or rugby from Down Under – then you might want to get a Plasma TV. After all, plasma televisions have a better contrast ratio than most LCD monitors, an ability to render the deeper shades of black, more depth to its colour, a better response time to motion on-screen, and availability in various screen sizes, up to much larger screens that the LCD type of television still cannot handle. One such plasma screen is the LG 50PC55, which stands at a hefty 50 inches.
This flat screen TV promises to wait sixty thousand hours until its screen life decreases to half its original brightness, and claims that its images are life like, almost life-sized, and giving you, the viewer the best view of your images in your intimate space. This widescreen television set weighs about 35 kilos, and is available in a glossy black. With resolution at 1366 x 768, this screen displays at 720 p, and allows you various input video formats. You can also hook up this monitor to your PC, and your TV tuner has both analogue and digital, so that you can start getting hooked once the digital revolution in TV broadcasting sets in.
There are several features in this model, including reduction of video noise, parental control over programming, XD engine technology, and stereo sound. This telly also comes with a universal remote control, and it runs on both 120 and 230 volts. The LG model also supports both cable and satellite television, and can even handle your VCR or DVD. Some vendors can also offer damage insurance for shipping of this model, especially since plasma television sets are difficult and delicate to ship. When ordering, you can also ask for wall mounts and cabinet stands to go with your order.
Before you order the plasma TV, however, you need to be aware that there are a few disadvantages associated with using plasma flat panel televisions. For one, plasma TV is more susceptible to burn in, and your monitor can get hazy or darker over time. However, with recent improvements in plasma TV technology, you can expect this characteristic to be less pronounced. Another disadvantage of plasma television is that it can generate more heat, so you may be using up a lot of electricity when you use this television set; moreover, if you live in a smaller space, you will feel the heat, and you may need to find a way to cool this television set down.
Another disadvantage of plasma television is that it does not perform as well when used at high altitudes. Compared with LCD television sets, plasma sets also have a shorter display life span. Moreover, plasma television sets are much heavier, so they will need a lot more support if you want to mount them on your wall.
These are only a few facts about plasma television, and the LG 50PC55 Plasma. For more information on how to order this particular model, and what its features are, you can talk to your local television retailer. You may also want to consult you on what features will best fit your budget, and which kinds of television sets are best for your home. This way, you can get the most out of your television viewing experience without worrying about spending too much.
