Choosing LCD Televisions or Plasma Televisions
Best Deals on LCD and Plasma TV's
When I was buying a new television set to replace my new one, I was bombarded by all sorts of offers. For a hapless buyer who honestly did not know anything about technology, it was an enlightening and unforgettable experience. I may not know what LCD is or plasma televisions are when I was buying but by the time I finally chose which one to buy, I was information-rich on these two kinds of televisions.
LCD and plasma televisions are the same in the sense that they both use the most recent technology in televisions. They have good picture quality and have more vivid pictures and colours than the ordinary direct view CRT television that I have before in my living room. Yes, I even know now what it is called. They however have different strengths and weaknesses.
LCD for instance is much more power efficient because it uses a florescent bulb inside it. Compared to plasma, it is also more long lasting. It can serve you to about 60,000 hours compared to the usual 30,000 hours that plasma televisions can run. On the downside, LCD televisions can be more expensive than plasma tvs. This is because the materials used for the screen are not cheap! Also, when it comes to big sizes, LCD do not offer the very large size screens available from plasma sets. Plasma televisions on the other hand can provide you with all the comforts of a little theatre at home without the hefty price tag.
Still, for me, LCD is the much better deal. In the long run, it’s all up to you.
