The LG 37LG5000 was introduced by Life's Good in April 2008. It is part of the 5000 series and boasts of a 37-inch screen. Several of the typical features from the earlier series were maintained, while some new features were added as well.

Like with most products from LG, the 37LG5000 aims to combine decorative value with high technology and user friendly features.

Not surprisingly, the LG 37G5000 still features some of the typical structure and design of the earlier LG series. The speakers are hidden in the screen so as not to compromise its design, Clear Voice technology is used to increase the volume of human dialogues on the screen, and the user can choose from a wide range of options and control menu to find his preferred optimal combination of colour balance, contrast and harmony of sounds.

The LG 37LG 5000 uses full HD 1080p technology in order to have a maximum resolution, which makes the images on the screen sharper and gives the opportunity for the user to see movies and programs in high definition. It has a contrast ratio of 50,000:1.

New features have been added as well. Compared to the 3000 series, the 5000 series has the "Intelligence Sensor Algorithm" which detects changing light conditions in a room and triggers the images to adjust according to these conditions. HDMI 1.3 Deep Colour Technology is used to increase colour ratio and to make colors look more realistic.

The LG 37 LG5000 has three HDI entrances, two SCARTs and a PCD entrance as to make connection with HD sources possible. It uses 210 W of electricity when operational while on standby mode, less than 0.9 W.
