Coming from the world’s largest manufacturer of television and LCD panel displays, would it be far-fetched if Samsung LE32A436TD would become the largest-selling LCD TV today? It is possible, if users around the world thinks the model is tops.

How does a consumer know if an HD-ready LCD TV model is tops in performance and in its internal features?

The LE32A436TD features

The first key feature that has to be checked by the users is the LCD’s tuner. What does it do and how much can it do?

The LE32A436TD, a mid-sized 32-inch model, uses an integrated IDTV tuner with the reliable Freeview for backward compatibility on standard-definition sources. It is HD ready (720p/1080i).

The next feature would be the first of the two most important aspect in a television unit – the video, and how to enhance it, refine it, and make it life-like.

Samsung employs the unique DNIe+ technology (Digital Natural Image Engine+) for superb natural-looking picture quality. Next is integrating the Wide Color Enhancer 2 to deliver exceptional depth in all colours in the images.

The two-pronged video booster includes the unit’s high resolution ratio (1366 X 768) and the 8,500:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio that deepens the black and makes the other colors more vivid. As the world’s largest maker of LCD displays, Samsung is incorporating into the unit the Clear Panel Technology to enhance some more the video output.

The other half of the most important TV feature is its audio (sound quality). Samsung LE32A436TD uses a two-speaker system with Nicam Stereo or Mono A2 and SRS TruSurround effect.

One surprise is the inclusion of an Auto Volume Leveller, which is not present in most of the other competitive brands.

Standard slots

Most TV buffs would take note of this list carefully. The three input slots for HDMI (HDMI ver.1.2 and Anynet+) would be for the other high definition (HD) sources like cable, satellite box, and DVRs.

The twin slots for SCART are used for Blu-ray and PlayStation3 console. The unit is liberal with the other input slots: single slots for Component, for PC input (VGA D-Sub), for headphone, Optical Audio Output and for Composite.

Other added attractions

For looks, we cannot discount that the slim line and classic style of the unit makes it very attractive for any viewing room in the house. An added appeal would be the gloss black finish and the swivel stand. (The unit is also compatible for wall mounting.)

Would Samsung LE32A436TD be the leader in sales in its class? That would remain to be seen. But with the way the makers lavish this LCD TV with very good features, they certainly are shooting for number one.
