Sony Bravia KDL40S3000U 40 Inch HD Ready LCD TV
Review: Sony Bravia KDL40S3000U
A forty-inch LCD television set, now that’s something to think about. The last time I watched a television on a screen that big was a not so good experience for me. During that time, LCD televisions were not widely available and if there were some sets in the market, the quality was not as great as today plus the cost back then was simple staggering. Simply put, you get more value for your money when you buy LCD HDTV's available in the market today. Plus there are a lot of models and brands to choose from. Although, it would be wise to purchase a brand that speaks out “the best in the market”. You can spot these units from the entrance of the appliance store. These brands are well designed with picture quality so superb that you don’t know if improvements are still possible.
In terms of brand name and model number, I would bet my money on the Sony Bravia KDL40S3000U. The BRAVIA, which is actually short for Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture is one of the latest offering from the electronics giant Sony. Since its release almost four years ago, engineers from Sony have continuously improved the design and look of its Bravia series. The KDL40S3000U Sony LCD TV's sleek and classy black finish and design encourages the best entertainment experience. It is also wall mountable but has an available table top stand as a ready option.
For picture quality, the KDL40S3000U is simply astounding since it has the Bravia Engine picture enhancement technology built in the system. The Brava engine is the latest technology found in LCD Sony televisions. The technology basically fine tune and removes noise from the broadcast output to give viewers a clean, crisp, vivid and high contrast images and colors. Also, the dynamic contrast has been rated to up to 7000:1. The idea was to make the picture quality as realistic as possible which means better blues, greens, reds, and whites. Sony Pictures Entertainment also optimized the Theatre Mode options in this Bravia meaning to say that any movie you watch will be digitally enhanced to deliver a theatre like feel.
Aside from the picture quality, sound technology has been levelled up for the KDL40S3000U as well. A Virtual Dolby Surround BBE VIVA audio system gives the viewers a movie like experience. Of course any audio system can be enhanced or compromised depending on the design of your entertainment room. But nonetheless, the audio system on the KDL40S3000U is simple a class of its own.
Of course, since the Sony Bravia KDL40S3000U is already HD ready, you can truly enjoy HD broadcasts. It also has a digital tuner which can access Freeview digital channels. And with three HDMI sockets, two located on the rear and one on the side, you can easily interchange your connection and viewing preference from your Blu-ray to your game consoles.
Addition features include a new remote commander, two SCART sockets, a computer input, built-in digital TV (MPEG2) terrestrial tuner, one component input, and a live colour creation technology to get that enhanced colour quality.
Now the KDL40S3000U LCD Digital TV do come with a slight hitch: it’s available for around £600. I’ll admit, it is quite expensive but the sheer size of the viewing experience as well as the available features really makes up for the price. If you have the budget then I would recommend this 40-inch viewing monster.
